2020 Weddings
2020 has been a year that will never be forgotten, post covid, things will be different. It has allowed us to review our priorities, changing our buying habits and allowing us to focus on what is important.
Your wedding day is meant to be the best day of your life, and post covid weddings will still be just that – an amazing day surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that will last your married lifetime.
Although, we anticipate some big changes to come when we emerge though this rough patch. A shift towards more conservative budgets and holding celebrations with more meaning.
Here are a few ideas that will keep you getting married!
• Guest lists; this is one of the first things you write (after your post on social to celebrate the engagement!) and quickly can become longer than you 1st anticipated. Rather than have 150 people attend your wedding, think about who you really want at your wedding day, who means the most and who will be happy for you. This can save you lots of money and allow you to find a smaller, more intimate venue too.
• Split your day into 2 celebrations! Hold a beautiful ‘micro wedding’ with those near and dear to you with your wedding ceremony followed by photos and some food & wine to enjoy– then hold a 2nd ‘party’ which doesn’t have to be as extravagant or as costly as the traditional reception.
• Elope! You really want to get married, so go and do it! Grab your bestie or your parents to witness and celebrate and make it official. Why not? Dates are more flexible, you can still have your beautiful attire, a photographer to capture the special day and a fantastic honeymoon to look forward to. Still want the big celebration, then wait until your 1-year anniversary and then re-do your vows and have a party with your extended family & friends.
