We are passionate at our venue about sustainability and reducing waste. As a team we are always looking for new ways and opportunities to ‘Green’ our workplace both inside and out.

We also proudly engage in the following
- Our Edible Forest and vegetable gardens grow produce onsite, reducing food transport miles in a ‘spray free environment’
- Babbajin Park; an onsite wildlife shelter that rescues injured and orphaned animals for rehabilitation prior to release back into the Yarra Valley
- Cooking classes held in repurposed shipping containers, where boxed meals are donated to help ‘feed locals in need’
- Water tanks ensure water conservation
- Eco Friendly Heat pumps for hot water are at each building
- Single Use plastic straw free; using metal straws as we’ve ‘had the last straw’
- Organically grown & made onsite; preserves, room sprays and veggie bags are available onsite along with bamboo toothbrushes (should you leave yours at home!)
- Working towards Zero waste with waste separation bins in all accommodation and general public areas including the main reception/ office area
- Onsite chickens and our worm farm ensure our organic waste together with trench composting is used. Worm ‘Tea’ fertiliser is available for you to take home to feed your own garden.
- Repurposed horseshoes are made into art sculptures around the property, lovingly made by a retired local craftsman
- EcoWorx is part of our cleaning system; using no harsh chemicals
- ‘Who gives a crap’ toilet paper; donating 50% of their profits to water sanitation
- Simply Cups Rescue: Did you know coffee cups aren’t recycled in Australia? More than 1 billion cups end up in landfill each year, so Simply Cups and 7 Eleven have joined forces; YVE supports this project.
- Use local suppliers (within a 30 km radius)
- Water independent; using filtered tank water & bore water for watering gardens & flushing toilets
- Accommodation rooms do not have mini bar fridges, T. V’s, alarm clocks, spa baths. They also allow you to control your own temperature
- Pump & Wash’ bathroom products, environmentally friendly, reduce waste and septic safe.
